Arrogance or Stupidity I am not sure which!

Yes, I am a little late with regard to commenting on the Pit Bull Ban. In fact a friend of mine asked me why I had not commented on either the Observation Deck or the Buzz.

The reason is essentially this ban is a waste of time by our city leaders.

One councilman decides that this ban is in the best interest of the citizens of Lakewood. Yet, there is laws already on the books protecting individuals relating to vicious dogs.

Its like the Mayor is trying to reduce the budget and eliminate certain service, now this ban puts added pressure on city services, it just doesn't make sense. I have talked to many residents about this ban over the last couple of weeks and no one can be positive about the way it was handled.

Those opposed to this ban stand up and fight and what do they get, a knock at the door by the Animal Warden.

Arrogance or Stupid I am not sure, but one at-Large councilman sure looks a little heavy handed in his approach to pass this ordinance.

Go view the Fox 8 report and tell me you don't come to the same conclusion.

I am reminded of what a wonderful leader

Dennis Kucinich is;

I was reminded of that by Matt of Blackfive and his recalling of what congressional leadership had said about the surge.

Here is Kuch's comments:
"In Iraq, his new plan is a plan for more door-to-door fighting, more civil war, more civilian casualties, more troop deaths, more wasted money, more destabilization in the region and more separation from the world community. The President wants to send more troops to Baghdad, where they will work to quell a civil war. Only a small portion - less than 20 percent - of the new effort will be spent in al Anbar, to fight al-Qaeda. Does anyone in this Administration have any sense left at all? They are sending more US troops into the middle of a civil war!

"Congress needs to take a stand against the President and take the necessary steps to bring our troops home. We need to begin talks with Iran and Syria -- and not blame them for our misguided war in Iraq. Diplomacy is the only way to avoid a widening war. If we follow the President's path of war, we will get . . . more war."

I wish the democrats would follow the logic used by the FBI's HRT - Never negotiate with terrorists.

But, alas they won't since they abhor doing the dirty work!

This country needs real leaders! Must get rid of Kucinich, this year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

As we near our nation's birthday, let us not forget our Friends to the North:

Inhabited for millennia by First Nations (aboriginal), the history of Canada has evolved from a group of European colonies into an officially bilingual (English and French), multicultural federation, having peacefully obtained sovereignty from its last colonial possessor, the United Kingdom. France sent the first large group of settlers in the 17th century, but Canada came to be dominated by the British until the country attained full independence in the 20th century. Its history has been affected by its inhabitants, its geography, and its relations with the outside world.

O CANADA

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Change We Can Believe In

The change bus is driven by Barack Obama and if you are a supporter and say something that he might agree with quietly, but must denounce publicly, then this bus is for you!

Although, I won't cry too much for Wesley Clark. Someone some day will have to explain to me the attraction to Clark as a political figure.

Although, maybe if we can get the County Commissioners to say something then they might get run over by the Obama bus! That would be change that I could believe in!

UPDATE

Here is a some more on the character of Wesley Clark as pointed out by Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit, from SLATE magazine
